As the Arab Spring unfolded in the Middle East, Libyan rebels in Benghazi managed to overthrow the Gaddafis dictatorial regime with the help of NATO. The military intervention brought back into the limelight the academic debate on the Responsibility to Protect doctrine and state sovereignty. At first, the international community celebrated the initial success of the intervention; however, the situation only seems to be getting worse as military warlords are competing for the leadership and resources. This course examines the present situation in Libya as well as possible prospects for the future. Details of this event may be subject to change.
