Liberty Ship Bay Cruise July 18, 2009

The SS Jeremiah O'Brien, the only still-operating WW-II Liberty Ship on the West Coast, will cruise to the old Kaiser Shipyards in Richmond, with historic narrative by the Captain, to see where many of its sister ships were built (the O'Brien was built in Portland Maine). Tickets are $100 which include donuts & coffee as you board, picnic lunch, complimentary wine/beer/beverage bar, live music and all the salt air & sun you can take.
As always, the entire ship, including the 2500 horsepower, 3-story tall steam engine is open for your inspection, all explained by our knowledgeable volunteer crew. Located at Pier 45 on Fishermans' Wharf, the ship is easily reachable by BART & the vintage MUNI F streetcars. More info and tickets at www.ssjeremiahobrien.org
