A talk by local author and retired university lecturer Dr Eric Rowley.

Eric Rowley lives in Bramhall and is the author (with colleague Colin Lees) of a history of the university during the Second World War. Eric's book is both a general history of the period but also includes biographical details of the 200 members of the University who died in the war (many of whom had strong local connection).

Eric's talk will range over this fascinating period of the University's history - with a particular focus on the lives of local people who studied in Manchester and who died in the war.

Eric will be happy to sign copies of his book at a special price of £9.99
