Erin Mills Town Centre (5100 Erin Mills Parkway, Erin Mills Parkway & Eglinton Avenue) will hold a special parade and ceremony to honour Canadian war veterans on Wednesday, November 5, beginning at 10:00am. Pipers accompanied by the Colour Party, Streetsville Pipes & Drums, cadets, participating veterans, members of the Canadian Forces, and approximately 100 students from Middlebury Public School (grade 5) and Credit Valley Public School (grade 4) will parade through the centre to the stage in upper level centre court for a ceremony with dignitaries including: Garry Bond, President Royal Canadian Legion #139; Bonnie Crombie, MP; Bob Delaney, MPP; Councillor Pat Saito; Deputy Chief Paul Tetzlaff, Peel Regional Police; and Sheila Jennings, General Manager, Erin Mills Town Centre. WHAT: Pipers accompanied by the Colour Party, Streetsville Pipes & Drums, cadets, members of the Canadian Forces and over 100 students from Middlebury Public School (grade 5) and Credit Valley Public School (grade 6) will parade through Erin Mills Town Centre to upper level centre court where they will meet participating veterans and dignitaries at the stage for a special ceremony in honour of Canada’s war veterans.
Erin Mills Town Centre has created a cenotaph in remembrance of our war heroes to coincide with the beginning of the Poppy Drive which will be installed on November 1 and will be on display in upper level centre court until November 11.
