Les Miserable is a convoluted, heart touching historical fiction that involves the genuine historical events. The story was published on 3rd April 1862 by the famous Victor Hugo. The Novel got fabulous success not only in France but was also published in many countries including Europe. Les Miserable is based on numerous characters and stories which took place during 1815 to 1832.The novel deals with numerous themes including cruelty and violence of law which were commonly existed during 19th century. Jean Valjean is the protagonist of the novel and is imprisoned in the jail for 5 years in guilty of stealing loaf for his sister’s seven children and his sentence has been increased for 19 years due to his continuous attempts to escape from jail.
