The Legacy Jazz Quintet’s recent performances of Miles Davis material from the “Kind of Blue” album garnered great acclaim. For these performances, the band moves forward to explore the next great chapter in the legendary trumpeter’s musical career.
Led by pianist and Jazz St. Louis’ Director of Education Phil Dunlap, the Legacy Jazz Quintet brings together many of the finest players in the St. Louis area. The band is in the mold of the classic quintets of Davis, Art Blakey and Horace Silver from the 1950s and ‘60s.
These performances are in cooperation with the Center for the Humanities Summer Institute at Washington University.
Two sets, both nights starting at 8:30 and 10:15pm.
