John Hart, Ph.D. is Professor of Christian Ethics at Boston University School of Theology, and founder of its doctoral program in ecological ethics. He has authored four books: Sacramental Commons: Christian Ecological Ethics (Rowman & Littlefield, 2006); What Are They Saying About...Environmental Theology? (Paulist Press, 2004); Ethics and Technology: Innovation and Transformation in Community Contexts (Pilgrim Press, 1997); and The Spirit of the Earth -- A Theology of the Land (Paulist Press, 1984). He has written chapters for five edited books, and has more than forty published articles and essays. His Ph.D. (1978) and S.T.M. (1972) are from the Union Theological Seminary (New York), where he was Tutor in Christian Ethics (1974-76), and Tutor in Liberation Theology for Gustavo Gutiérrez (1976). His B.A. is from Marist College, New York (1966), and he studied Latin American literature at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (Mexico City, 1966).
