Lecture: The Marie Antoinette Costume July 9, 2008

Extravagant costume balls were a favorite among the many glamorous events hosted and attended by Marjorie Merriweather Post and she frequently dressed as Marie Antoinette for the occasions. In this gallery talk, Howard Kurtz, assistant curator of costumes and textiles, will discuss Post’s passion for Marie Antoinette and provide a rare close-up look at one of the costumes she wore.
