The arguments to be examined are taken from “The Last Days of Socrates” by Plato, specifically the Phaedo.
The setting for this dialogue is the impending death of Socrates and the anxiety of his friends over this fate as well as their efforts to keep him from having to die by helping him to escape. He, however, does not want do to so and will explain why he is not afraid of dying.
