HIGHLANDS OF THE HUDSON
Stephen P. Rice, Ph.D.
The Highlands of the Hudson were an inspiration to poets and painters of the 19th century, among them Washington Irving and Thomas Cole. Stephen P. Rice, Ph.D. examines how the Highlands above the Hudson River have been depicted in the visual and literary arts, evoking a sense of the mystery and beauty that have always been associated with the Highlands.
