Andrew Lam, Vietnam-born author of "East Eats West: Writing in Two Hemispheres" and "Perfume Dreams: Reflections on the Vietnamese Diaspora," will discuss the cultural consequences of immigration from Asia to the West including the effects of Asian taste, cuisine and martial arts on the American imagination and issues of religion, identity, and family in the new world where East and West overlap. Lam is also cofounder and editor of New American Media, the largest ethnic media association in the United States. This lecture takes place in Woodway Hall 202.
