This lecture will discuss the issue of identity in Latin America. Jewish contribution to Latin American culture is very significant; and as a result, the Jewish presence in Latin American literature is very strong.

Moacyr Jaime Scliar is a physician and currently one of Brazil’s most distinguished writers as well. Most of his writing centers on issues of Jewish identity in the Diaspora and particularly on being Jewish in Brazil.
