Eve Fowler is a photographer based in Los Angeles and a visiting artist at CCA this semester. Her pictures explore provocative subject matter -- for instance male hustlers, lesbians, or transgendered individuals -- but she deliberately supplies no explanatory titles or captions. Her work appeared earlier this year in "The Way That We Rhyme: Women, Art, and Politics" at San Francisco's Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, and it has also been exhibited at SFMOMA and Thomas Solomon Gallery in Los Angeles. Fowler received her MFA from Yale and has taught at numerous major universities, including UCLA, USC, and California Institute of the Arts (CalArts).
