What is Node 101 Brighton?

Node 101 Brighton “is an open source, collaborative project created to teach and spread videoblogging worldwide.” What this means in practice is a skill-share where you can learn, amongst other things, how to get yourself a blog and put video on it, how to set up an RSS feed, how to use the facilities you already have to make video (if you own a PC or a Mac, you will probably already have editing software, if you own a digital camera or a camera phone, you’ll probably already have a video camera).

Node 101 is open to everyone, regardless of technical ability. It runs as a skill-share which means that everyone is there to teach and everyone is there to learn. We want to create a collaborative community of videobloggers in Brighton (one of the most amazing things about videoblogging is the friends you make and the community you become part of) and in the UK.

What do I need to bring?

- A laptop – Unfortunately, there aren’t a set of computers we can use at the moment, so you’ll have to bring your own. If you don’t have a laptop, and can’t get hold of one, then please email me at wine_and_corduroy@hotmail.com and I will see if I can get hold of some.

- Some earphones!

- A camera – If you don’t have a video camera, do you have video facilities on your mobile phone or digital camera? There’ll be a camera available for the event.

- Some tasty food. We’re going to do a pot-luck buffet, so bring something yummy and preferably vegetarian.
