Have you ever been handed a menu in French restaurant and wondered what coq au vin meant - and then tried to pronounce it? Has the waiter smiled knowingly when you pointed to escargots? Here’s an opportunity to not only decipher those curious dishes but to go beyond menu-ordering. UNM Continuing Education is offering French I classes starting September 14, 2009 through December 14, 2009 on Mondays from 6-8pm. For $110 you will not only learn the basics of the language but you will also learn about the culture, history, and take a wine and cheese tour of France. There will be emphasis on learning the intricacies of conversation, reading and writing - all done in a fun way. You should bring a map of France with you to class.
