Learn a variety of mixed-media techniques including photo transfer, silk screen, block printing and collage to create a one-of-a-kind journal. The journal could highlight your vegetable or flower garden, gardens that you have visited, the Arboretum, bird watching or any natural area. The class will take a short walk around the Arboretum grounds and through the Arboretum library to inspire creativity. Bring a blank journal or book and your own photos to copy or bring color copies to work directly from.
Instructor Lisa Qualls received her BFA from the University of Texas at Austin. While teaching art in the classroom she continued to study photography, ceramics, textiles and printmaking in Santa Chiara, Italy, Parsons, The Fashion Institute of Technology and the Southwest School of Art and Craft.
