Since the early 1900's, rural residents of the mountains of Appalachia have woven intricate baskets for carrying items such as eggs, cotton, and herbs. These beautiful and durable baskets are now prized by collectors and museums. Master basket weaver Kathy Chang will lead a hands-on workshop where students will learn the ancient techniques of basket weaving on February 25. Cost includes supplies! Suggestion: bring a sack lunch as the class is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
