“When I became Director of Nursing, I was unprepared for dealing with all of the people challenges in my department,” explained a newly-promoted director. In professions, individuals assume leadership positions based largely upon their technical competence and job performance. However, success in an administrative position depends more on leadership skills than technical expertise.
This program addresses leadership challenges in a health-care setting. Participants will learn how to engage their staff in the pursuit of their organization’s vision, mission and objectives. Case studies on motivation, best practices, communication challenges, addressing conflicts and dealing with attitudes help participants come away with hands-on techniques for getting the best out of their group.
