Program Description:
The food industry is undergoing change in many different dimensions and facing many new challenges. It is critical for this industry to remain a vibrant and growing sector of our regional economy.
Sensors and other devices are the foot soldiers in automation architecture. Food and beverage manufacturers view new sensors as critical enabling technologies that will provide the basis for superior product quality, food safety and security, process optimization, and sustainable manufacturing to meet the changing demands from customers, government agencies, and international competition.
Dr. Discenzo will discuss technology innovation and the use of sensor technology roadmapping to identify emerging sensor technologies for process industries and to identify sensor technology gaps and market opportunities.
