LBJ National Park Walking Tour October 3, 2009

Walking tour of LBJ National Historical Park with 5K and 10K tours. The routes are on paved roads. Everyone must register and carry a start card which must be turned on upon completion of the walk (that way we know we didn't lose anybody). Registration is 8am until Noon. You may register for free, but a small donation to help defray event costs would be greatly appreciated.

Highlights include Junction School, LBJ birthplace, family cemetery where the 36th President is buried, show barn, private runway, and the original century old rock farmhouse that became known as the Texas Whitehouse. Event walkers may take a free tour of the Texas Whitehouse and the former President's office. For the house tour walkers will need to get a ticket (no charge) at the Hangar and may choose to go thru the house during or after the walk. The walk will be guided by National Park Service staff and only a certain number of people may go in at a time. There could be a waiting line for the house tour.
