According to the Washington Post, singer/songwriter Laura Thomas’ “ voice is capable of tracing melodies as sinuous as the Rock Creek Parkway, and she has a soft spot for writing tender, compassionate or introspective ballads that help set her apart from the rant'n'roll crowd.” Part Ani DiFranco, part Alanis Morissette, and part Norah Jones, Thomas’ biting, crafty lyrics and massive voice, make for an audio-shock of emotional truth. On September 9th, Thomas will be joined by Matt Wigton (upright bass), and Clarice Lappe and Angela Carroll (backing vox), for an acoustic show at Googie’s Lounge. There is no admission fee.
