Portland’s Top Shelf Showcase –“Laughter is Coming.” Starring Ian Karmel.
A formidable host of Portland’s most courageous knights of laughter will be marching up the Kingsroad (I-5 North) to invade the Comedy Underground in Seattle for the second installment of Portland’s Top Shelf Showcase.
Leading the charge will be Portland comedy's bravest champion, Sir Ian of House Karmel. After winning Helium Comedy Club’s inaugural “Portland’s Funniest Person Tourney," Ian Karmel has besieged and destroyed any comedy club (Laughs in Kirkland, Cap City Comedy Club in Austin, The Upright Citizens Brigade Theater-Los Angeles, Comedy Bang-Bang and Meltdown in L.A.) or festival (Bumbershoot, Moontower Comedy and Oddity-Austin, Bridgetown-Portland) that stood between him and the pursuit of his rightful comedy throne. Ian will be returning to Seattle on his quest for the One True Laugh after performing last year at the Comedy Underground (Seattle and Tacoma) during the Seattle International Comedy Competition and a headlining date at the Laff Hole. Ian has also expanded his comedy empire to the realm of television on IFC’s Portlandia and is a regular contributor to Talking Ball on Comcast SportsNet Northwest.
Joining Sir Ian's Army of Laughs are his Lordhip Anthony Lopez “Ruler of the Arcane Realm” (Bumbershoot, Upright Citizens Brigade-East in NYC), Lady Jen Allen “the Fair Maid of Whimsy” (Bridgetown Comedy Festival, Laff Hole), and Prince Xander Deveaux “the Crowdslayer.” (the youngest-ever finalist in Helium Comedy Club’s “Portland’s Funniest Person Contest”). Returning to host with aplomb will be the motley fool Carson Creecy IV (Capitol Club, Seattle, Punchline Fridays at Jai Thai, and the San Francisco Comedy Cellar).
Portland’s Top Shelf Showcase will be at the Comedy Underground, Seattle on Wednesday, August 29th at 8:30 P.M.
Tickets are $10 and may be purchased in advance at www.ticketweb.com (search “Top Shelf Comedy From Portland”) or at the Comedy Underground Box Office at 7:30 PM on August 29th.
