For centuries, the Grand Canyon has been revered as one of the most stunning landscapes on Earth. Lasting Light, coming to The Durham Museum from the Smithsonian Institution, features 60 framed photographs from the late 1800s through present day. Covering approximately 125 years of photographic history, the exhibition includes images of early photographers dangling from cables to get the perfect shot. More modern images are bold and dramatic, revealing both the canyon’s capricious weather and its subtle features. Lasting Light will leave visitors inspired by the unforgettable beauty of this timeless natural wonder.
