Make your Lenten more special this year by attending a performance of the Last Supper Drama, 7 p.m., March 28 at Central Christian Church, 803 Greene Street, Boone, Iowa.
This drama, based on Leonardo Da Vinci's well-known painting and presented by the men of the West Des Moines United Methodist Church, shows the disciples of Jesus Christ around the table after Jesus announces that one of them will betray him, to which the disciples talk about their association with Jesus Christ and ask, "Is it I?".
This year marks the 41st anniversary for the drama, which was inspired by a performance of the drama as witnessed by the men of the West Des Moines United Methodist Church at Purdue University in Indiana in the summer of 1969. The first performance was performed by the men of the West Des Moines United Methodist Church on Maundy Thursday, 1970. Since then, the drama has been performed more than 380 times around the state, as far away as Nashville, TN and even on television. Thousands have seen it; of them many have said they have been touched by the drama.
