Make this potluck/sing-a-long concert a monthly tradition for the whole family! Notable artists from all over the Pacific Northwest will bring their talents to the intimate setting of the Commons, allowing you, our community, the unique opportunity to enjoy music and poetry in what feels like an ‘extended living room’.
March’s featured artists are:
Anne Weiss: Combining contemporary folk, blues, acoustic funk, gospel music, and smatterings of classical phrasing and Latin rhythms, Anne is known for her enormous bluesy voice, great guitar chops, and striking stage presence. Anne has performed with everyone from power folk singer/songwriter Ani DiFranco to country blues heroes Cephas & Wiggins. She has toured internationally and has appeared at folk, blues, world music festivals, and week-long music workshops.
Bill Jolliff: has long been legendary in the Northwest music and activist scenes: he has influenced countless musicians on songwriting and he's one of the most engaging live performers around. Bluegrass buffs will remember his old father/son duo Jacob Henry & Bill Jolliff, and folk fans know him as the writer of "Laughlin Boy," the song Tracy Grammer made a folk radio hit back in 2005.
All-ages, All folks welcome! Donations only. It’s a potluck, so bring some food if you can to share. Eating and drinking will begin at 6:30pm, music and storytelling will then proceed from 7pm until 8:30 or 9.
