Las Guitarras De Espana: Music and Movement November 28, 2009

Las Guitarras de Espana presents 'Music and Movement,' featuring live Spanish guitar sounds fused percussion, violin and voice and interpreted by Flamenco, Modern, and African dancers. The melodies of Spanish composers such as Albeniz and Granados are reworked with the grooves of flamenco rhythms while elements of American blues, jazz, and rock are fused with the guitar sounds of Ali Farka Toure' (Mali) and the Senegalese kora. Dancers both "engage" and "move away" from traditional movements.
