Your resident “Senior Black Correspondent”, Larry Wilmore grew up in suburban Los Angeles, where he attended California State Polytechnic University to study theater. HHe dropped out of school soon after to pursue acting and stand-up comedy full-time.
Wilmore’s writing and acting career began to take off in the early 1980s. His television credits include a recurring role as a police officer on The Facts of Life. He also wrote for Into The Night with Rick Dees, In Living Color, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and The Jamie Foxx Show. Together with Eddie Murphy, Larry Wilmore was co-executive producer for the television series The PJs.
Currently, Wilmore appears on Comedy Central’s The Daily Show as the “Senior Black Correspondent.” In 2009, Wilmore authored I’d Rather We Got Casinos: And Other Black Thoughts.
