Five billion people watched 26-year-old Lang Lang’s performance in Beijing’s opening ceremony for the 2008 Olympic Games, where he was seen as a symbol of the youth and future of China. He has played sold-out concerts with the world’s best orchestras and most renowned conductors, and is seen as the most exciting keyboard talent in years.
Germany’s Schleswig-Holstein Festival Orchestra features some of the world's finest young musicians under the guidance of Principal Conductor Christoph Eschenbach, former music director of the Philadelphia Orchestra and newly-appointed music director designate of the National Symphony Orchestra.
The six performances in our two Classical series are made possible by the William R. Kenan, Jr. Trust Endowment.
