Ben Lerman is a New York City–based singer-songwriter, comedian, writer, and Youtubographer, originally from South Bend, Indiana. He co-founded the Isotoners (www.myspace.com/isotoners), for which he wrote, played keyboards and bass, a nd sang. For three years the Isotoners played around New York, honing themselves musically and satirically to the point where the Village Voice put them on the cover of their “Best of New York 2004" music section with a full-page photo. The band played the gay comedy rock circuit until 2005 when they discovered that there was no gay comedy rock band circuit. Ben learned to play the ukulele and ventured out on his own. He's been playing solo gigs since 2006.His CD "Ukelear Winter" is currently available form his site (www.benlerman.net) and at this special appearance.
His video "Vagine" has received many over 22,000 hits on the well known youtube site and his song "Anderson" is about the sliver fox of TV, a tribute to Ben's many nights watching this blue eyed god.
What the critics are saying:
“ Lerman’s best asset is his stage persona... Take the droll presence of comedian Steven Wright, cross it with the deadpan delivery of Bebe Neuwirth’s Lilith on Cheers , give it a queer spin and you end up with Lerman.”
Jason A. Heideman, Time Out Chicago, 2007
“He’s funny, he’s gay.... and he’s coming to rock your world!”
Amy George, The Riverfront Times, Saint Louis.
“Ben Lerman and his ukulele make one funny gay pair"
Time Out NY - 2007.
So check out Ben Lerman and his ukulele and hear what all the fuss is about.!!
