The Golden Dragon Acrobats have garnered international acclaim in the time-honored tradition of Chinese acrobatics, an art form that first became popular in China 2,700 years ago. They have traveled around the world to more than 65 countries on five continents as well all 50 U.S. states, including performances at prestigious venues such as the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and Caesar's Palace in Atlantic City. They made their Broadway debut to a sold-out audience in November 2005 and garnered two Drama Desk nominations, which were Danny Chang for Unique Theatrical Experience and Angela Chang for Best Choreography. The Golden Dragon Acrobats are seven-time recipients of the National Association of Campus Activities Entertainer of the Year Award and present more than 200 performances each year across the United States.
The members of the company are athletes, actors and artists who have trained since childhood. Their performances receive adoration and standing ovations from audiences of all ages and universal critical acclaim. The program will feature award-winning acrobatics, traditional dance, spectacular costumes, ancient and contemporary music and theatrical techniques of breathtaking skill and spellbinding beauty.
