Oak Park, IL – Uncover the true meaning of Christmas with the Grinch in “Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” [PG] on Saturday, December 15th at 10 AM, which kicks off Downtown Oak Park’s Home for the Holidays event! Based on the book by Dr. Seuss, the film stars Jim Carey as the curmudgeonly recluse Grinch who absolutely despises Christmas as well as all the Whos in Whoville. In order to ruin their Christmas spirit, the Grinch steals all of the Whos’ gifts on Christmas Eve with the help of his trusty dog, Max. On Christmas morning with no gifts in sight, a small child named Cindy Lou Who makes the people of Whoville along with the Grinch realize the spirit of Christmas is more than material gifts. “Dr. Seuss’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas” (2000) was nominated for three Academy Awards and is the second highest-grossing holiday film of all time following “Home Alone.”
