Faculty pianist to present solo recital
Daniel Immel, an assistant professor of music at Louisiana Tech, will
perform a solo piano recital in the final performance of the faculty
concert season.
The concert will take place at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, April 10 in Stone
Theater and will feature an eclectic mix of classical, romantic and
contemporary repertoire.
Featured pieces include Earl Wild?s transcription ?Reminiscences of
Snow White,? Fazil Say?s Middle Eastern rhapsody ?Black Earth,?
Vladimir Horowitz?s transcription and variations of Mendelssohn?s
Wedding March, as well as pieces by Mozart, Felix Blumenfeld and
Brazilian composer Camargo Guarnieri.
Immel recently received second place in the Bradshaw and Buono
International Piano Competition in New York and will release a CD with
saxophonist Todd Oxford this summer.
