LACO’s innovative chamber music series continues when playwright David Rambo joins the Orchestra to explore the connections between Sibelius’s musical works and his own creative output. Margaret Batjer, who curates the series, builds a program around Rambo’s musical inspirations. This concert features David Rambo, special guest, Margaret Batjer, host, Josefina Vergara, violin, Tereza Stanislav, violin, Sarah Thornblade, violin, Tamara Hatwan, violin, Roland Kato, viola, Victoria Miskolczy, viola, Andrew Shulman, cello, Armen Ksajikian, cello, David Shostac, flute, Allan Vogel, oboe, Helen Goode-Castro, clarinet, Kenneth Munday, bassoon, and Richard Todd, horn. The program includes the Sibelius String Quartet in D minor, “Voces Intimae” (“Intimate Voices”), Barber Summer Music for Wind Quintet, Op. 31 and the Janáček String Quartet No. 2, “Intimate Letters.” Single tickets are $40 each.
