On Saturday, June 26, Chinatown will host a free festival commemorating the anniversary of the establishment of “New Chinatown,” built when the original Chinatown enclave was taken over for the construction of Union Station. “New Chinatown” was dedicated in 1938 and became iconic heart of Chinatown which today encompasses 24 blocks. Featuring 40’s and 50’s era music and dancing to the music of Flattop Tom & His Jump Cats.
