Scottish singer/songwriter KT Tunstall stands out among the pool of females that she draws comparisons to recently, such as Dido, Katie Melua and Fiona Apple. Her glossy debut, 'Eye to the Telescope,' highlights her soulful voice, sassy attitude, and earthy songwriting. Feeling an acoustic guitar is sometimes too limiting, her live show incorporates the use of an Akai Headrush foot pedal that allows her to spot record multiple times and loop each section continuously, and thus become her own one-woman backup band. Singer-songwriter David Gray had enjoyed immense success in the UK and Ireland for years before the rest of the world caught up with him with 1997's 'White Ladder.' His simple, acoustic-fronted songs are canvasses on which Gray paints emotions, with his hoarse vocals acting as the brush with which he recreates scenes from his soul. Gray's most recent efforts are 2002's 'A New Day at Midnight,' 2005's 'Life in Slow Motion' and 'A Thousand Miles Behind,' a collection of covers.
