"Kites for a Cure" to Benefit Uniting Against Lung Cancer May 9, 2009

FAMILY KITE FLY ON OVERLOOK BEACH IN BABYLON, NY
TO BENEFIT
UNITING AGAINST LUNG CANCER

Babylon, NY – “Kites For a Cure,” a family kite fly to awareness for lung cancer research is being held at Overlook Beach in Babylon, NY, (Ocean Parkway) on Saturday, May 9, 2009 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. The event is being hosted by Uniting Against Lung Cancer, one of the leading sources of funding for lung cancer research in the country. Kites, snacks and family fun will be available to all guests, for a $25 donation, available in advance or at the event itself.

More than 500 families are expected to join Babylon’s first annual May kite fly. Guests will be able to decorate their kites at the site – drawing pictures or memorial messages – and take advantage of the afternoon’s off-shore breezes to lift their kites to the sky.

Uniting Against Lung Cancer funds innovative research into the causes, treatments and possible cures for the disease – the nation’s #1 cancer killer. To date, Uniting Against Lung Cancer has awarded over $5 million in grants to top cancer researchers at leading institutions around the United States.
