A mid-Summer Night's Kirtan! Come join us as we sing, dance, meditate and watch the sun set over the Hudson together with an unimaginably great band in the beautiful events hall of the Museum of Jewish Heritage.
Kirtan is fully participatory call-and-response chant where the "audience" are the true performers. It is at once contemplative, ecstatic, fun and deep.
In keeping with the mission of the Museum — Remember, Never Forget…There Is Hope For Your Future — the program will feature Rabbi Hahn's acclaimed version of "Kaddish," as well as the unique Mechayyei ha-Meitim ("Resurrection"), the "Shema," and other chants which fold memory and past into a loving future.
On August 4th, Kirtan Rabbi will be:
Rabbi Andrew Hahn, Ph.D. – vocal calls, harmonium
Avi Fox-Rosen – guitar, vocals
Rima Fand – violin, viola
Taylor Bergren-Chrisman – bass guitar
Elijah Tucker – drums
Shoshana Jedwab – percussion
Noah Baumwoll, Emily Stern, Rachel Brook – vocal responds
