Killbox, a sculptural installation by St. Louis Artist Noah Kirby, will open at Good Citizen on July 30th. Killbox is embedded with hyper militarized language, tactics, and procedures that dictate the formal structure of the exhibition. The primary sculpture is a representation of small squad tactical maneuvers and CQB (Close Quarters Battle) techniques. The sculpture itself is loosely based, both aesthetically and structurally, upon stealth technologies. Within the Killbox installation, Kirby will call upon theories of perception, specifically as they apply to covert operations and camouflage techniques. The installation and sculpture will work in tandem to transform the gallery and to create an experience that puts the viewer in a self-conscious position relative to a space, an object, and a culture. Kirby's work will extend to the Good Citizen Billboard, where Killbox will occupy the project space from July to September.

Noah Kirby completed his BFA in Sculpture and Painting from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 1998. He earned his MFA from Washington University in 2000. His work has been on exhibition throughout North America at such venues as The University of Mississippi, Washington University's School of Medicine, The Gardens at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, New Mexico Highlands University, St Louis University's Henry Lay Sculpture Park, String Gallery in Toronto, and the National Ornamental Metal Museum in Memphis, TN. He currently owns and operates NK Metalworks and teaches in the sculpture department at Washington University's Sam Fox School of Art and Design.
