Kidsemble II: Expressions in Sound and Silence June 19, 2010

Rochester’s innovative chamber music ensemble, Gibbs & Main, formerly known as Quartsemble, will perform an interactive children’s program at Wilson Foundation Academy on June 19th. This program features Michelle Charles, ethnic dancer, in a variety of music which explores the idea of expression in sound and silence. Children arrive up to 15 minutes early to learn basic dance steps, make simple instruments, and meet the musicians and dancer. During the performance, the children are invited to perform with Gibbs & Main, and are directed in a variety of activities by educator Terry Fonda Smith. The concert will be at the Wilson Foundation Academy, 200 Genesee Street, Rochester, NY 14611, on Saturday, June 19th from 2:00-3:00 pm. Admission is free, and tax deductible donations will be accepted.
