Unfortunately, the economy has impacted the number of in-kind donations to the Kids’ Closet at the Medical Center which provides clothing and toiletries to meet emergency needs of patients and families. The stock of these supplies is seriously depleted so we are asking for your help.
We’ve received a number of inquiries about whether donated clothing items need to be new or if they can be gently used --infection control guidelines dictate that donated clothing items must be new.
During the week of June 22-26, a clothing and toiletries drive is being held. The following items are needed.
• Comfortable shorts, pajama bottoms or lounge pants (size 2T – adult XXXL)
• T-shirts (size 2T – youth XL)
• Underwear (size 2T – adult sizes)
• Socks (men’s, women’s and boy’s sizes)
• Sports bras (all sizes)
• Travel-size toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste and lotion)
• Comfortable infant clothing
Donated items can be dropped off at the Volunteer Office at the Medical Center between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. during the drive or you may also drop them off at the Junior Volunteer Bake Sale on Thursday, June 25. The proceeds from the bake sale will benefit the Kids’ Closet.
If you are based off-site and would like to help collect items at your location, please contact Kat Davitt at Kat.Davitt@cookchildrens.org or by phone at 682-885-4241.
Thank you for your support so that we can continue to meet the needs of our patients & families under care throughout the Medical Center.
