WHAT: Young fans of the Newberry award winning The Tale of Despereaux book will get to meet its brave little star for free at the Museum of Nature & Science. Despereaux will give away posters, mouse ears, face masks, t-shirts as well.
During the children’s event, and from Nov. 26-Dec. 7, museum members can sign up to win four free tickets for a sneak preview of the hotly anticipated holiday animated feature. 110 family packs of four tickets each will be given away to the preview on December 13.
MNS is offering membership specials for those who want to join and become eligible for the free movie tickets between now and Dec. 7. More information can be found at www.natureandscience.org.
WHO: Despereaux is a heroic, gentleman mouse created by Kate DiCamillo. When things are the darkest, a hero appears with lessons about bravery, forgiveness and redemption. A brave soul with the heart of a lion inside the body of a mouse, Despereaux is funny, charming and beautifully brought to life in The Tale of Despereaux movie.
WHERE: The visit with Desperaux is in the lobby of the Museum of Nature & Science in Fair Park. The sneak preview will be at the AMC Theaters, NorthPark.
COST: The event is free for everyone. Normal museum admission applies for those who want to stay and explore the Children’s Museum or the new “Your Incredible Body” gallery afterwards.
WHEN: Saturday, December 6, Despereaux will meet and greet children from 2:15-2:45 p.m. and again from 3:15-3:45 p.m.
Sneak preview is Saturday, December 13 at 11 a.m. at AMC Theaters, NorthPark.
