WHO/WHAT: Hundreds of Chicagoans and visitors to the Windy City will join Millennium Park, McDonald’s® and the Mayor’s Fitness Council for the 2008 summer kick-off of energizing FREE workouts on the Great Lawn of the Jay Pritzker Pavilion at Millennium Park and assist in Chicago’s effort to become one of the healthiest cities in the U.S.
7 a.m. Tai Chi – NEW!
8 a.m. Yoga
9 a.m. Pilates
10 a.m. Aerobic Dance
COST: FREE! McDonald’s also provides free water, nutrition information and fitness rewards.
DETAILS: Each week, instructors from Lakeshore Athletic Club will lead Yoga (8 a.m.) and Pilates (9 a.m.) classes, followed by a special aerobic-dance session (10 a.m.) with Chicago-area dance companies and experts including Amaniyea Payne of Muntu Dance Theatre of Chicago, Culture Shock Dance Troupe, Lisa La Boriqua and Shamila Kheterpal of Chicago Bhangra Explosion. New this year, Tai Chi classes will be offered on the first Saturday of the month (June 7, July 5, August 2 and September 6) at 7 a.m.
