Kentucky Derby Hat Competition For 'Most Creative' and 'Most Fashionable' May 5 at Empire City May 5, 2012

It's "hats off," or we should say, "hats on" to the Kentucky Derby on Saturday, May 5, at Empire City Casino at Yonkers Raceway with close to $2,000 in prizes up for grabs in the casino's inaugural “Run for the Roses Hat Competition.” First prizes of $500 for both the "most creative" and "most fashionable" hats will be selected by a panel of judges. Second prizes for each are $250, and third place winners check in with $100 apiece. Registration from 1-4 p.m., winners announced at 5 p.m.
