Ken Clark Organ Trio (www.kcot.net) returns to
Ryles Jazz Club!
Boston's Ken Clark Organ Trio has released two critically acclaimed CDs on Severn Records: Eternal Funk (2003), and Mutual Respect (2005). Both recordings have sold internationally and received high marks in Jazz Times, Goldmine, and Downbeat magazines. Their original music blends jazz & blues in the style of the traditional organ trios (Jimmy Smith / Jack McDuff) with contemporary instrumental groove music (Maceo Parker / Medeski, Martin & Wood).
Organist Ken Clark is one of only a handful of B3 players who plays a driving and articulate left hand, while on the pedals he’s a Blue Note Fred Astaire.
Guitarist Mike Mele has worked with many local jazz artists, including Michelle Willson’s Evil Gal Festival Orchestra. “An unusual combination of discipline and soul. You don’t hear many guitarists in any genre who sound as right and play with as much economy as Mele.” -Durham Herald Sun.
A consummate sideman, drummer Steve Chaggaris has performed and/or recorded with a wide array of diverse artists, including Monster Mike Welch, Colleen Sexton, and The Soul Band.
