Post and Courier columnist Ken Burger will be signing copies of his new novel, Sister Santee (Evening Post, hardcover, $26.95), at Fiction Addiction on Saturday, February 19th, from 12-2pm.

Sister Santee is Ken Burger's second romp through South Carolina Lowcountry in his usual no-holds-barred style. This time it's in Santee Cooper Country, which is full of good guys, interested girls, an albino madman and greedy politicians. Maceo Mazyck has been to the insane asylum on Bull Street, and is not very happy. Stoney Sanders, a successful lobbyist with a big utility, snorts cocaine and flies planes. John Rhett, a notorious ex-politician and ex-con works out a deal with the government in an attempt to bust a huge smuggling ring. Beautiful TV reporter Berkeley Aiken walks a color line as easily as she delivers the news. And don't forget Junior Jones, a young, bi-sexual lawyer caught in the vortex of affirmative action. Interesting guy. Oh, yeah, and somebody steals an Air Force cargo jet and goes for a joy ride in a hurricane.

Ken Burger is a native of Allendale, SC, and a graduate of the University of Georgia. He joined the Post and Courier in 1984 and served as the paper's Washington, DC, correspondent in the mid-1980s. From 1988 until 2008, Burger was executive sports editor and wrote an award-winning sports column. He was hailed as one of the country's best sports columnist by the Associated Press three times. He won numerous writing awards in South Carolina and was honored as SC Journalist of the Year in 1996. Burger published his first novel, Swallow Savannah, in 2008. He began writing a metro column for The Post and Courier in January 2009.
