The likable Kelly Clarkson won the first 'American Idol' competition in the summer of 2002. A few months later she broke Billboard records with 'A Moment Like This' and 'Before Your Love.' Her first CD, 'Thankful,' debuted at number one and went double platinum. Perhaps most impressive, two songs ('Since U Been Gone' and 'Breakaway') from her second CD in 2005 hit the Billboard Top Ten chart proving that she might have some staying power in the music biz. Clarkson returns in 2007 supporting her third effort, 'My December.' John McLaughlin is a major jazz guitarist. Not only did he lead the '70s fusion outfit Mahavishnu Orchestra, but he has crafted a successful solo career.
