With five chart-topping albums and 15 top ten singles, Keith Sweat has proven his worth as a contemporary R&B singer. Gill became a member of boy band New Edition in 1988. Gill hit it big as a solo singer in 1990 with the release of his album Johnny Gill, which sold over one million copies, topped the R&B chart and made the top ten on the pop chart. After 7 was an R&B group, founded in 1988 by brothers Melvin and Kevon Edmonds and Keith Mitchell. The brothers continue to perform in venues for reunions.
