Tis the Season Holiday Cleanup
December 11, 2010
You’re busy tidying up and decorating your house holiday guests, but what about Austin’s crown jewel, Lady Bird Lake? As you take visitors for an evening stroll around the lake on your way to spin until the Zilker Tree of Lights don’t you want them to notice the skyline and nesting herons and not Styrofoam floating in the water? Get in the true holiday spirit by giving the gift of your time to make our lake beautiful for the holidays, as well as, for all of the birds and animals who call it home.
In addition to feeling great while you admire the immediate results of your hard work, you’ll also have the chance to win prizes and you can expect to receive a few thank-you smiles and waves from trail users too. All cleanup supplies, snacks, and prizes for the most unusual objects found are provided.
There are multiple starting locations for shoreline and on-the-water volunteers (see registration link for details). On-the-Water volunteers should be 16 years or older.
Date: Saturday, December 11th
Time: 9am-11am

Register: www.KeepAustinBeautiful.org/LadyBirdLakeCleanupDecember11
