KDVS presents JANDEK November 12, 2010

KDVS is ecstatic to present outsider legend Jandek in concert at the intimate Davis Veterans Memorial Theatre on Friday, November 12, at 8pm.

For more than 30 years the entity known as Jandek has released a steady stream of enigmatic and wholly unique LP's filled with atonal folk and broken blues on his own Corwood Industries label. Though his real name is an open secret at this point, the fact sheds no light on a body of work that's as influential as it is impenetrable, inspiring works and tributes from bands like Nirvana, Sonic Youth, Wilco, The Mountain Goats, The Dirty Projectors, and Six Organs of Admittance, and acting as an archetype for countless hometaping loners since.

For this show the representative from Corwood Industries will be accompanied by locals Christian Kiefer on guitar, Alex Jenkins on drums, and Greg Brucker on double bass.
