Kathryn Calder (of the New Pornographers) June 14, 2011

Canadian indie rock musician Kathryn Calder started with The New Pornographers as a “fill-in” for live performances but in 2006 became a permanent member. Her first solo album, Are You My Mother?, was released last August and was recorded while Calder was caring for her mother who was suffering from, and ultimately taken by, Lou Gehrig’s disease. The New Pornographers’ 2010 release, Together, is dedicated in her memory.
